VIE Velo tandem C2C tour update

Dear members, please find an update from VIE Velo about their tandem C2C ride.

Hello everyone

You had communication with my VIE Velo colleague Simon or I last year around this, please see attached note on where we’re at. We expect to have community events at Kirroughtree Visitor Centre on 2nd June and The Bridge, Dumfries on 3rd June, visited by the visually impaired tandem tourers riding the C2C route 2nd to 5th June. We want to make the most of these events both on the day and legacy – could all this influence sustained visually impaired or disability cycling in D&G in the future for example?

What would be most impactful at the events?

Could you get involved in developing them?

Could we source tandems and other adaptive bikes for use on the day?

Are there trained people who could run adaptive bike sessions?

Could there be a legacy – eg initiation of a visually impaired tandem club(s)?

How could D&G cycling clubs and communities get involved?

I hope this update is useful and it will be good to hear your thoughts and involve you (and others in D&G cycling) as appropriate going forward.

Thanks

Mike
