Pie Eaters' 5 Mile TT 2019: a small but perfectly formed field of 6 riders competed in the final time trial of Dumfries Cycling Club's season. This is always a great wee event, with a relaxed atmosphere and a very worthwhile reward for the winning rider.

Thanks to all those who came along, and special thanks to Glenn Marland and David Keenan for running things. Glenn's great for getting right into the spirit of the event each year by bringing along a selection of pies for us to tuck into afterwards! One of the many wee moments each year that make our time trials special.

Gordon McNeil rode strongly to set the fastest time on the night (11:54), followed by Ian Gilbert in 2nd (12:25) and Gill McNeil in 3rd place overall on the night (12:56). Emma Westmancott and Stuart Garner both had stories to tell after their eventful rides but were pushed out of the prize positions tonight.

The new champion Pie Eater is Ian Gilbert, whose adjusted time of 10:42 was just enough to squeeze the evergreen Donald McCalley into 2nd place (10:44). Congratulations, Ian!

The handicap is the difference between each rider's season's best 10 mile time and the season's overall scratch time, divided by 2. The scratch time is 22:42 (G Church).

Here are the full results:
Donald McCalley 13:14 (10:44 adjusted)
Ian Gilbert 12:25 (10:42 adj.)
Stuart Garner 14:05 (12:35 adj.)
Gordon McNeil 11:54 (11:12 adj.)
Gill McNeil 12:56 (11:21 adj.)
Emma Westmancott 14:13 (11:21 adj.)

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported our time trials this year.
